Second (& third) Doctor's Visit

Yea, we've been to the pediatrician's office a few times already. The first visit happened the day after he came home...it was routine, but they wanted to check him soon because he has been slightly jaundiced. That has been diminishing and his skin is getting more fair every day, although I think he'll keep Steve color more than mine. The second visit was a 2-week routine "well-baby" check. We were impressed that he'd already gained all his weight back and more! He'd dropped to 7 lb 10 oz before we left the hospital...a completely normal occurrence....but now is up to 8 lb 12 oz! He's also grown 3 inches. God has an amazing body-building plan!

The only little trouble he's had is an increasingly uncomfortable/painful burping session. In fact it's really the only time he cries, so it necessitated the third visit to the doctor. The diagnosis was reflux, so now he takes Prevacid once a day and things are improving steadily. Of course giving medicine to a 2-week-old is a bit challenging, but he actually likes the taste of it (it's a dissovable tablet) so at least we don't have that to overcome.

In other news, Mom flew home earlier this week after a much-appreciated stay with us. It was soooooo nice to have someone cook, clean, and keep Sarah occupied so Steve & I could sleep or feed & change Logan. I have been amazed at how easily I can get wrapped up in taking care of Logan and that Sarah can so easily spend hours in front of the TV or computer. So effortlessly all her training to "play on her own" slips away when there's no one to redirect her focus. Anyhow, enough of my whining. More of interest to you is that the pictures will be much more limited here because the main picture-taker is now back in Seattle! I guess I need to learn how to take self-portraits while holding a baby in one hand and corralling a 4-year old with my feet. :)

Well, that's about it for now. Here a few pictures:

His first bath! It was a little traumatic at first but he settled in pretty quickly and started enjoying it.
Sarah's new dress from Grandpa...probably will be her Easter dress. She was dancing around like a princess in this picture.
Trying on a new outfit while sitting in his crib...okay, Mommy was helping.
With his favorite puppy-blanket...okay, maybe we staged this one a bit.
